This project commenced in May 2022. We were asked by our clients to build a multi-level composite decking at the rear of the property. They recently had an extension completed and asked for a decking which would wrap around the rear of the property. We built and designed a decking area that would come out from both the original back door and the new patio doors, creating a better connection between the garden and the home. The decking board orientation was designed to change to create the visual appearance of separate areas, within the large deck.

Materials

This decking project used Trex® composite decking in their Naturals range, ‘Clam Shell Grey’. To find out more information about this product visit the Trex® website.

Additional Extras

The project also involved 2 large build-in planters, which we built and clad with the same Trex® Naturals ‘Clam Shell Grey’ decking boards. Along the right and the left of the decking, a run of 1.5m was left empty for the client to fill in and plant in the future. This certainly will be an area that will fully evolve over time, as more planting is added to the areas surrounding the decking.

A ‘floating’ log store area was also created, which also acts as a separator for the 2 planting areas.
