We had our old wooden decking replaced by Trex during the early lockdown days by a landscaping company in a very wet November 2020. Consequently, the deck wasn’t properly or professionally finished as the installer had no experience of Trex nor the right tools. Fortunately, after a protracted period of searching for a local authorised Trex installer, we discovered DEX and Matt via the Arbordeck website. Matt quickly responded to our email, visited us within a week, assessed the issues and articulated what could best be done. A fully detailed quotation followed which we readily accepted. Matt scheduled our job a month later and arrived as promised. He initially delivered the new fascia decking and did some preparation work on a Friday before returning on the Monday to undertake the job and complete it in one very long day. He didn’t leave until he was satisfied that all the work was completed including eliminating areas of bounce in the deck boards We were impressed by Matt’s methodical approach to the job which was aided by an extensive range of equipment which facilitated him to deliver an extremely competent and professional job as the images show We can’t recommend Matt highly enough

Matt came around to look at our decking for our balcony which was tired and rotting. He provided us with ideas on how to make the space better and more pleasing. We went through options of composite decking for the outside space and the fittings for a better finish. Matt also walked us through the supporting joists which needed to be replaced not only for safety but to ensure a better look for the finished product.
On installing the new decking and joists Matt was professional throughout taking his time to make sure all the pieces were fitted correctly and the that it was secured safely, keeping us informed all the way through the installation. The finished project is amazing, and it feels as if we have extended the room with a new outdoor space. Matt also cleaned up any debris and took the waste a way and it looks as if he was never here apart from out decking which we use with a glowing sense of pride.
Matt has totally transformed the back yard and we couldn’t be happier with the result. His design has maximised the little space which now feels so much bigger. We knew it wouldn’t be an easy job with all the angles and different levels, but it’s incredibly neat. Matt is clearly a highly skilled and meticulous worker but also really approachable with a positive, can-do attitude. He solved all the puzzles that this project posed and was open-minded, flexible and realistic when I asked about changes to the plan. We were amazed by how fast the transformation took and felt that Matt worked over and above our expectations. On top of that he’s a genuine, kind person who was a pleasure to have around.

We had some raised decking that was rotting and in need of replacing. We knew we also wanted to extend it and Matt helped us shape the final design.
Professional and personable from the outset, Matt was a god-send in helping us decide on what would work in the space we had.
A dedicated individual who certainly puts in a full days work. We also have 2 very inquisitive 6 year olds – they were never an unwelcome distraction to Matt, he engaged with them and made the construction an enjoyable event for all.
Extremely happy with the end result, the additional privacy screen decided upon at the last minute really pulled the whole build together and its now a fabulous space for entertaining. A lovely guy who has the customers needs at the heart of what he does.
On moving into our new property, we found that the large decking area was mostly rotten and unsafe for our young children. We were recommended the services of Designer Exteriors by a gardener we had used previously.
Matt came round for an initial chat about what we could do and what we needed from the area and was highly professional, enthusiastic and full of ideas, recommendations and possibilities for what we could do with the space. Matt actually attended a few times before we instructed him, bringing samples each time to help us visualise what our garden could look like.
We decided to go ahead and Matt commenced work on our fairly large project, to replace a large decking area, construct a new pergola and replace all our fencing and gates.
At all times, Matt was friendly and professional and communication was great. We always knew when he was coming and even if it was clear he couldn’t make it due to poor weather, he would let us know.
The finished project looks great and the added privacy we now have from the new fence is invaluable, keeping our garden completely hidden from the passers by on the adjacent footpath.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Designer Exteriors to anyone looking to replace their decking or give their garden a bit of a facelift.
Absolutely fabulous work form Matt. From the first visit, quote and completing of the job the communication was fabulous. Matt’s work is to the highest level, true workmanship. He is a perfectionist. He offered sone great ideas and solutions for a couple of issues we had and was happy for us to complete some of the work. The quote was very detailed and broken down so it was transparent. I would have no hesitation in recommending Matt and hope to work with him again.
